Cardiac Rehab Medical Director

In an East Texas community of 3,400 is an opportunity for an internist who enjoys providing Cardiac Care. The ideal candidate is able to do holter monitoring and interpretation, cardiac stress tests and manage some current inpatients.

With this East Texas Rural Medicine opportunity you’ll become the medical director for the cardiac rehab program (cardiac experience preferred). Currently, stress tests and the cardiac rehab program oversight are accomplished by local FPs. Your Call schedule is 1:5 and shared with current Family Medicine physicians in town.

This rural East Texas community is home to a 48-bed hospital with 2 surgical suites. The medical staff consists of 4 active members, 22 consulting members, and 5 courtesy members.

The medical specialties represented are: Anesthesiology/Pain, Family Medicine, GI, Occ Med, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Podiatry, Pulmonary, Radiology, Surgery, and Urology. The ER is physician staffed 24/7.

The city is situated on the western edge of the East Texas Pine Belt in the Prairies and Lakes Geographic Region. Quality of life here is among the highest in north Texas and the cost of living is lower than the majority of U.S.

This East Texas Rural Medicine opportunity is for the Internist who enjoys some non-interventional cardio procedures (stress tests, cardiac rehab, etc).

You’ll join ranks with 2 other internists who function as IM/Hospitalists. Your Call schedule is 1:3 with on-call every responsibilities every third night and every third weekend.

There are 4 Family Practitioners who see over 2000 patients per month. You’ll be referred IM clinical patients and hospital admissions. These local Family Physicians will warmly welcome you to the community. (Ready-made friends!)

In addition to all the benefits listed above, this opportunities comes with a $40K Signing Bonus. Your practice is associated with a 37-bed facility that has a surgical suites and 3-bed ICU.

Join four other primary care providers at this East Texas Rural Health Clinic. The local hospital is a 22-bed facility that cares for the 12,000 medical service area.
