Looking for a Houston Gastroenterology Opportunity? Your timing is good doctor…one is currently available! A large and much respected multi-specialty group of 325 Texas physicians has a need for a 10th Gastroenterologist on their collegial Texas GI team.
You, our newest Houston Gastroenterologist, will join our highly regarded department of all board-certified Gastroenterologists with academic appointments and several sub-specialty areas of interest and expertise.

Quality of life, collegiality, and a very competitive compensation are the major components of our GI Department. Our payor mix is primarily fee-for-service and managed care.
We have an accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center for outpatient procedures immediately adjacent to the Gastroenterology office at the Main Campus near the Texas Medical Center. Advanced therapeutic procedures are performed in the hospital’s Ambulatory Surgery Center. A second endoscopy unit is presently under construction and slated for completion in the 2nd quarter of 2008.
On 1-2 days per week, our new Gastroenterologist will travel and offer regional ambulatory consultations at one of our suburban or metropolitan Houston locations. Experience in therapeutic biliary endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) are required, along with career plans to further develop your present skills. However, the core workload will be Clinical Gastroenterology.
Hospital call coverage is one week every 8 weeks. There is no weekly nighttime call or coverage except for during your one week of hospital call as the “GI Hospitalist” on the inpatient teaching service.
Teaching Opportunities With This Texas Gastroenterology Opportunity
Each month our Gastroenterology Department has an inpatient GI teaching service with 2-3 assigned Internal Medicine residents and a medical student from Baylor College of Medicine. Several of our department members have been recipients of the Clinical Faculty Member Outstanding Teaching Award from BCM.
Our GI group essentially uses one hospital, located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. The facility is the primary teaching hospital for Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). The opportunity for ongoing research is provided by our research affiliate.
